Հայեցի Դաստիարակութեան Խորհուրդի
Մանուկներու Փառատօնը՝ աւարտեց Վեցերորդ տարին

Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի Ազգային Առաջնորդարանի Հայեցի Դաստիարակու­թեան Խուրհուրդի կազմակերպութեամբ, Շաբաթ, 18 Փետրուար 2017-ին, «ՀՄԸՄ Արամ Մարգարեան» Մարզասրահէն ներս տեղի ունեցաւ Մանուկներու Փառատօնը՝ 4-12 տարեկան երեխաներուն եւ պատանիներուն համար:

Փառատօնի տաղաւարներուն եւ աշխատանքներուն թեմաները կը կեդրոնանային հայեցի ձեռային աշխատանքներու վրայ։  

Հայեցի Դաստիարակու­թեան Խուրհուրդը մէկտեղ հաւաքած էր Մոնթրէալի Հայ Կեդրոնի համալիրէն ներս գործող կազմակերպութիւններն ու միութիւները, ինչպէս՝ ՀՄԸՄ-ի սկաուտները, ՀՅԴ Գանատայի Պատանեկան Միութիւնը, Համազգայինը, Սուրբ Յակոբ Շաբաթօրեայ եւ Կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցները, Ս. Գէորգ Կիրակնօրեայ դպրոցը եւ Հայ Օգնութեան Միութիւնը:

On Sunday, February 12, 2017, His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian attended the celebrations of the Maronite Church in Montreal.

The Maronites of Canada celebrated the feat of St. Maron, by placing the relic of Saint Maron on the altar of the Cathedral.  The relic was brought from North of Lebanon. The ceremony was chaired by Archbishop Paul Marwan Tabet and was attended by Cardinal Lacroix and the Papal Ambassador in Canada along other distinguished clergymen.

Among present were Canadian Ministers and Lebanese government representatives.

Archbishop Papken, Prelate of Canada, was accompanied at the celebrations by Very Rev. Fr. Vartan Tashjian, chairman of the Prelacy Religious Executive Council.

Prelate’s Banquet Held in Montreal

Montreal, QC_ Under the Auspices of His Eminence, Archbishop Papken Tcharian, a banquet was held at Le Crystal on the evening of February 5, 2016.
The event was hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Vahakn Karakachian, and featured musical performances by Nuné Melik and the Arden Arapyan Trio.
Mr. Karakachian opened the evening with a brief speech on the contributions of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada to its communities across the country since its establishment, be it on a religious, spiritual, cultural and communal levels.
World renowned violinist Nuné Melik then took the stage and was accompanied by pianist, Michel-Alexandre Broekaert. The duo transported the audience to the end of the 19th century, delighting them with works by Komitas and Cédar Franck.
The Arden Arapyan trio entertained and diverted the attendants during the dinner service with their unique form of jazz driven by exotic sounds of the world.
The evening also featured a short documentary about the Armenian Prelacy’s mission and its different activities since His Eminence Archbishop Tcharian was elected as Prelate. The documentary also presented the upcoming projects the Prelacy has planned for 2017.
To help the Prelacy continue its mission and accomplish the goals it has set out, Mrs. Berta Minassian-Heller donated $20,000 USD during the banquet.
Archbishop Tcharian closed with the night a heartfelt message about the mission of the Prelacy and the importance of its communities and their contributions.
“Our churches and its associations will continue to devote its work to the education of our youth… The Prelacy is ours. It’s the home of our children and we have to be there for all our communities and our children across Canada.”
His Eminence also shared profound gratitude to the attendants and to the communities and organizations they represent, noting that the Prelacy was able to achieve all those accomplishments because of their contributions, participation and collaboration.
The evening was concluded with a prayer by Archbishop Papken and the traditional Giligia hymn was sung by all those present.

Prelate Tcharian visits Mayor Coderre at the City of Montreal

On Monday, February 6, 2017, His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian visited Mayor Denis Coderre at the City of Montreal.

Mayor Coderre and Prelate Tcharian met this morning at the Mayor’s office and discussed topics related first of all with the latest attack at a local mosque in Quebec City. Archbishop Papken offered his condolences to Mayor Coderre and condemned the act and highlighted the importance of solidarity and peace in Canada and the world.

Secondly, His Eminence officially expressed his appreciation to the Mayor for his support and collaboration during the centennial of the Armenian Genocide and gifted the City of Montreal a sculptor symbolizing the gratitude of the Armenian Community towards Mr. Coderre personally and the City in general. The artwork is the creation of Mr. Garen Bedrossian, a Canadian-Armenian artist, who lives in Montreal. The sculptor will be placed at a location of Mayor’s choice and decision.

Finally, on the occasion of Montréal’s 375th anniversary celebrations in 2017, Prelate Tcharian extended Armenian Community’s support for the projects and events being organized for the year.

His Eminence was accompanied Mr. Krikor Der Ghazarian, chairperson of the Prelacy Executive Council, Mr. Roupen Ackarian, vice-chairperson of the Montreal St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church Board of Trustees, and Mr. Kevork Kazandjian, chairperson of the Montreal Armenian National Committee.
