Prelacy Presents a Lecture “Pilgrimage among the Armenians of the Middle East”

 

Montreal, Qc- Under the Auspices of His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate, Very Reverend Walter Raymond OGS of the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Quebec City presented a lecture on his pilgrimage among the Armenian Orthodox of the Middle East at the Sourp Hagop Armenian Cathedral on the evening of February 8, 2007.

 

Before the lecture began, Prelacy Christian Education Council chairperson, Toros Babikian, presented a brief biography on Very Rev. Raymond, Dean of the Anglican Cathedral in Quebec City.

 

During his lecture, Very Rev. Raymond introduced different aspects of the Anglican Church, members of their congregation, including a history of the Anglican Church in Eastern Canada and explained that his interest in the Armenian Church was thanks to His Eminence, Archbishop Hagopian.

 

Through a series of captivating photos and video clips, Very Rev. Raymond described his many experiences in Lebanon, Syria and Deir Zor, Jerusalem and Cyprus during his 4-month pilgrimage in 2006.

 

Very Rev. Raymond’s trip was made possible by the Scholarship of St. Basil the Great, which was established by Bishop Henry Gordon Hill, a former Bishop of Ontario, to "facilitate a student exchange between members of the Anglican Church of Canada and members of the Oriental Orthodox Churches and the Assyrian Church of the East."
