His Eminence with Canadian Communities during Summer Holidays

His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, spent the summer celebrating key events with Armenian communities across Canada.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Under the Auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hagopian, the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was observed at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church in Toronto mid-August.

One of the most important feasts of the Church year and the principal feast of the Blessed Virgin, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the celebration of St. Mary’s happy departure from this life and the assumption of her body into heaven.

Quebec Kermesse Festivals

Prelate Hagopian also joined the Armenian communities of Laval and Montreal for their annual Kermesse-festivals during the months of July and August 2007.

Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy cross

His Eminence joined Rev. Fr. Gomidas Panossian and Cambridge community at Sourp Nishan Armenian Apostolic Church for the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy cross on the weekend of September 8-9, 2007. The Cambridge community also marked the departure of the inhabitants of Musa Dagh during the Armenian Genocide.

The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy cross represents the Triumph of the cross where we honour the cross by which Christ redeemed the world. It is one of the most important feasts of the Holy cross.

50th Anniversary of North American Prelacies

On, September 12, 2007, His Eminence Hagopian joined North America Prelates and Prelacy Executive Council Chairpersons in Los Angeles, California for a meeting on the occasion of the celebration of 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian Prelacy in North America.
