Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate Marks Sourp Kevork Name Day with Laval Community
Under the Auspices of His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, a celebration of the feast of Sourp Kevork was held during Divine Liturgy at Sourp Kevork Armenian Apostolic Church on September 30, 2007.
Archpriest Hrair Nicolian, Sourp Kevork’s pastor, joined His Eminence for this special ceremony, honouring one of the most venerated saints in the Eastern & Oriental Orthodox churches.
Sourp Kevork was canonized during the fifth century and is commonly known as the liberator of captives and the defender of the poor.
