Prelacy Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
Under the Auspices of His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate, the second annual Thanksgiving dinner was held at the Montreal Armenian Community Centre on the afternoon of October 8, 2007.
More than 400 people attended the second Thanksgiving feast, which was organized by the Armenian Prelacy of Canada’s Women’s Guild and featured to a lavish buffet of traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing and all the fixings.
The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Jean Arakelian, Prelacy Executive Council Chairperson, who noted his gratitude for the great turnout of so many members of the community for this traditional gathering before inviting His Eminence Hagopian to say a few words.
In His speech, Archbishop Hagopian commented on the importance of Thanksgiving and of applying its concept to all the aspects of our daily lives, in order to really appreciate all the Our Lord has given & provided us with.
His Eminence also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Vahan Der Assadourian for generously sponsoring the dinner for this year’s feast, as he did for last year.
