Special Assistant to Prelate Hagopian Arrives from Catholicosate
His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, received His new special assistant, Rev. Fr. Sipan Ketchedjian of the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia on the afternoon of November 19, 2007.
Following requests from His Eminence Prelate Hagopian, as well as the Executive and Religious Councils of the Prelacy, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Catholicosate, opted to send one of the Catholicosate’s youngest and most diligent members to help better the Armenian community of Canada.
Born Haroutyoun on December 3, 1975 in Beirut, Lebanon, Rev. Fr. Ketchedjian is a graduate of the Catholicosate’s Seminary and was ordained as a celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Souren Kataroyan in May 1997.
Throughout his years at the Catholicosate, Rev. Fr. Ketchedjian has held several positions at the Catholicosate, most recently he served as deputy dean of the Seminary. In 2005, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos, bestowed upon Rev. Fr. Ketchedjian the honour of donning the traditional chest cross ‘lantchakhatch’ in recognition of his devoted servitude.
