Inter-Church Relations Continue with Middle East Representatives
Under the Auspices of His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy, representatives from the Assembly of Middle Eastern Christians (Rassemblement des Chrétiens du Moyen-Orient, RCMO) attended Divine Liturgy at Sourp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Cathedral on November 18, 2007.
In His sermon, Archbishop Hagopian presented the mission and the goals of the RCMO, which are to promote communication and collaboration between Christians from the Middle East living in Montreal. His Eminence also reviewed the current situation of churches and Christians in the Middle East.
Following Divine Liturgy, Dr. Raouf Ayass, RCMO chairperson, and five representatives of the RCMO Assembly joined His Eminence Hagopian at the Prelacy hall for a reception, where they discussed the current state of the Christian church and its youth, as well as many obstacles facing Middle Eastern churches today, concluding that more work has to be done in these fields.
