Inter church Ceremony Held at Sourp Hagop Church
Through an invitation from His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, His Eminence, Bishop Bagrat Galstanian joined in serving Divine Liturgy at Sourp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church on November 25, 2007.
Under Varoujan Markarian’s baton, Komitas, St Gregory the Illuminator’s church choir, also took part in this special occasion, serenading the attendants with traditional Armenian liturgical hymns.
Before “Hayr Mer” Archbishop Hagopian introduced Bishop Galstanian and invited him to deliver the sermon of the day. After delivering the sermon, Bishop Galstanian thanked Archbishop Hagopian and Rev. Fr. Karnig Koyounian, Sourp Hagop’s Pastor, for this opportunity.
Bishop Galstanian also noted the importance of a joint stance against the many obstacles facing the church today. “Let us join our hands, let us join our minds, and pray together” he said.
This memorable day was concluded with a small reception at Montreal Armenian Community Centre’s Aharonian Hall.
