Catholicosate’s Education Seminar Held in Lebanon
The second Armenian Education Diaspora Seminar was held at the
Catholicosate’s Theological Seminary in Bikfaya, Lebanon from July
17-19, 2008.
The Armenian Prelacy of Canada representative, Mr.
Moushegh Karakashian from Toronto’s ARS Day School, was among
almost 100 Armenian school principals and
Armenian linguistic, history and religion teachers from across the
world, who attended this special seminar, in an attempt to find
innovative ways to overcome the new challenges Armenian schools faces
today.
In His address, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos said, “We are facing new
and different difficulties today and we are here today to discuss how we
can reorganize our methods of teaching Armenian, particularly Armenian
grammar, literature, history and religion. We have many communities that
are struggling, need textbooks and sometimes even teachers.”
The first Armenian Education Diaspora Seminar was held by the Armenian
Catholicosate in August 2004.
