North American Prelacies Meeting in Montreal

North American Armenian Prelacies will hold a joint meeting in Montreal to discuss current and general issues with regards to the Church and religion on July 23 and July 24, 2008.

His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada and its Executive Council, will be joined by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Prelate of the Eastern Armenian Prelacy of the United States, as well as His Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of the Western Armenian Prelacy of the United States and their respective Executive Council chairpersons.

The meeting will primarily concentrate on the many aspects of Christian education and the role of the Church with regards to youth, from the home to school to Sunday school, to preparing new generations of deacons and new text books, to finding new ways of getting more youth involved in church organizations and church life in general.

The agenda, however, is quite varied and includes topics such as the state of current Armenian communities and their churches and the possibilities of establishing new churches in developing communities; how to improve inter-church and inter-religion relations, to mention only a few.
