Prelacy Holds a Meeting for Church Board of Trustees,
CANAR Representatives and World Assembly Delegates


Under the Auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian, Prelate, the Armenian Prelacy of Canada held a meeting with its Executive and Religious Council, Church Boards of Trustees, CANAR Representatives, and World Assembly Delegates in Kingston, Ontario on November 8, 2008.

His Eminence Archbishop Hagopian opened the meeting with a prayer and welcoming words, and was followed by Prelacy Executive Council Chairperson, Dr. Jean Arakelian, who presented a report on the recent and upcoming projects the
Executive Council has been working on.

Church Board of Trustees chairpersons also took turns presenting their current reports and upcoming projects.

The meeting also included a presentation prepared by Very Rev. Fr. Meghrig Parikian, Toronto's St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church Pastor, and Rector of Ontario, on "The Armenian Church and fostering Christianity."

Prelate Hagopian reviewed the guidelines for the clergy of the Armenian Prelacies of Eastern United States of America and Canada, and went over the Prelacy's by-laws, which were reviewed by the participants and upon mutual agreement; certain revisions were brought to the statutes.

Archbishop Hagopian also bid a heartfelt farewell in His closing remarks to St. Catharines' St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church Pastor, Very Rev. Fr. Sipan Ketchedjian, who is returning to the Armenian Catholicosate in Antelias, Lebanon to continue his studies and start a new mission as per the request of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
